The Atlantic Sailing Club was established in 2005 to:
Promote the sport of Sailing in Cahirciveen and South Kerry
Provide a club setting for Sailors of all ages and experiences
Promote the training and development of club members through formal training and shared experience
Provide the opportunity for members to enjoy the sport in a safe environment
Atlantic sailing club is a member of the Irish Sailing Association.
Sailing times:
Tuesday 6.30pm–9pm (adults and more experienced sailors)
Thursday 6.30pm–9pm
Saturday 10.30am–1pm
Atlantic sailing club is open to all ages: Current members ranging from 10 years old -70 years old.
Activities on the water vary depending on the weather:
On a very windy day, boats stay close to the shore practicing manoevers and racing which is great for people learning how to sail and the experienced sailors alike.
On calmer days, the boats go further afield to Valentia harbour and Beginish Island, often stopping on the island for a brief stroll or rest.
Young or old, experienced or beginner - the ASC caters for all with friendly patient members that are willing to teach newcomers a few skills.
You will need:
Wetsuit, windbreaker jacket, buoyancy aid, neoprene boots or old runners, sunscreen, hat.
